Generally for a civilian commercial pilot you don't have to

Simply get your CPL and go from there

Military flying is a different thing however...

uni takes 3 at unsw..
1st year follows management
2nd and 3rd incorporates flying into it..
you can go on to get a master of aviation or whatever its called
