Hello fello PIPPERS

my topic is environmental sociology, basically I'm investigating the social consequences of human intervention. I 'll probably be talking and enquiring bout the adverse effects of urbanisation and modernisation, and also people 's perceptions of the environment. The only problem is I'm scared the markers will immediately write my topic off as too geographical/ environmental . Any advice. would be really apreciated thanks jez

there's nothing wrong with that. No marker can mark it off as too enviromental/geographical. As long as you keep within the guidelines and syllabus of the PIP, you should be able to do well. There are other PIPs that are devoted to religion and beauty just to name a few. One was even on Christmas and consumerism.

Good luck!

Oh thanks heaps,

I just thought I was digging my grave coz It wasn't overtly a social issue, but I guess there are links between society and the env that are important.

Any ideas on what methodologies i could use or advice ? jeza

well, there is a wide variety that you can choose from, from the syllabus:

just choose one that you think is most effective in your PIP and that you can write and reflect on.
