how do i put an image straight into a post ie. not an attachment? same goes for the sig. it wants me to do some queer formatting thing and i hve no idea what it's talking about...

Use IMG tags:

[img]url to image[/img]

Some sub forums have IMG tags disabled.

Then you have to find some webspace to upload it to first. Theres no way to display an image inside a post if the file is uploaded from your computer.
