Please, please, please, ... UAI prediction? (with Trials results now!)

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if I could get a rough estimate based on my assessment marks, if it's not too much trouble ... ? I want to get a UAI of 96+ [Comm/Arts] but with my marks at the moment I'm having doubts as to whether or not I can achieve that as most people at this forum are staying that ranks are important over marks and yeah ...

After Assessment 2 Period:
Adv English: 58% [yeah, a real shocker] 162/165
Extension 1 English: 76% 58/105
Extension 2 English: 70% 31/32
Adv Maths: 86% 20/85
Extension 1 Maths: 80% 58/123
Legal Studies: 88% 13/18
Economics: 82% 16/31

After Assessment 3 Period [sorry, the teachers didn't give us our ranks ... :(]
Adv English: 65%
Extension 1 English: 78%
Extension 2 English: 77
Adv Maths: 88%
Extension 1 Maths:75%
Legal Studies:85%
Economics: 81%

My school was ranked 3rd in the HSC last year, but according to our principal we're like the dumbest grade ever in the history of the skool so :/

Really appreciate it, if there are any takers!

The marks are high yet the ranks aren't that great. If you told us what school it would be easier then u could count the number of band 6's and see whether ur rank is within that number.

Your school rank is the thing saving you at the moment. If the ranks for assesment task 3 are similar to the assesment task 2, then you'll need to pull up in the trials. Your subjects scale reasonably well, however you'll need to improve for that scaling to actually kick in.

Explain to me, how you can have a total of 85 people in 2 unit Mathematics, but a total of 123 people for Mathematics Extension 1.

I assume that's the amount of ppl who only do 2unit mathematics.

My school is Sydney Girls High.

Thanks for the tips Velox ... do you have a rough idea of what UAI I'll get if I continue on like this?

Ditto ... there's only one class for 2u maths whereas there's 4 classes for 4U students.

Your going to have to do better then you are at the moment to land a UAI of 96+. The mathematic marks aren't to bad but whats going on with english? Its a shocker! Ship up or ship out, its the only way!

Well I'm back here with my my overall results that include my trial results, which were a BIG BIG shocker and dragged many of my marks down :(

English Advanced: 69%
Extension 1 English: 76%
Extension 2 English: 70%

(for all my english rankings, I'm predicting around the bottom of the grade)

Mathematics Advanced: 84% 25/84
Extension 1 Mathematics: 74% 75/119

Economics: 78% 20/31
Legal Studies: 77% (definitely near the bottom of the grade ... like 2nd or 3rd last.)

My school was ranked 3rd in the state last year. I honestly think (and realise) that is is pretty impossible to get that UAI of 96 now ... (damn trials! and sickness!)

However, do I have any chance at all of scoring a UAI of at least 91, provided I study my ass off these 5 - 6 weeks?

Looking forward (and desperate) to all your replies.

P.S: Velox, that's for me to know and you to find out ;)

UAI of 96 is still possible if you do very well in the HSC. Keep working, and you'll find out in December :)
