i really need everyones help, i have an assessment due tomoz and well, i have procrastinated too long...so now i need help.. its for society and culture and i had to choose a band and write a report on them, i choose nirvana, coz i know so much random stuff about them
but one of the questions is 'different perceptions of the band'.... this is where you come in... simply write your views on the band and their legacy (if u think they have one)...
thank you!

shes not asking you to write the essay, shes asking you for your personal view

anyway, i kinda think youre a bit misguided as to this part of the report. if i were you i would be looking at the different views of music critics, and different views portrayed through media at the time of nirvana.

i really cant be fucked saying much about nirvana, but i will anyways

first thing, i wish they never wrote 'smells like teen spirit' cause that song is good, but its the only song so many people know and it takes away from the other great songs that they wrote.

nirvana are overated because kurt died before they ever wrote a shit album, even though they only wrote 3 albums (in utero was a bsides album, other 2 albums were live, and there was a greatest hits)

so many people call themselves nirvana fans, but only know one song and then say nirvana was the greatest band ever cause everyone else is, not many people believe it. i really think they were one of the best bands to have recorded for a few reasons, basically though it comes down to the fact that grunge/punk/rock whatever ever else you choose to call it, was fairly unpopular, they didnt really do anything new/expiremental, but they did popularise grunge music, which reinvented the music seen and paved the way for other bands, and influenced many of todays best bands.

final thing to say is somethign that dave grohl said. its goes along the lines that just because kurt died (committed suicide if thats what you choose to believe) it doesnt mean that they were forever walking around with a black cloud over them, they had a good time and thats why they played music, just like most other bands.

At the risk of sounding like I listened to Nirvana at some stage in my poor misguided life, I think it was Incesticide that was the b-sides album.
