would somebody plz been able to tell what language techniques these are:

* "devilish cold"
* "the pyramids all embedded in ice"
* "Blinded by sleep"
* "The wind it was howling"

you have to give a context for most of them.

the first and last are personification -- ie, giving inanimate objects life like qualities

you could chuck in descriptive language for most of them, as a nice general technique

yeah but exam markers told me not to use the term "descriptive language"

You could also use decsciptive imagery, accumulative imagery.
