I have an assessment task due soon for my crime fiction genre studies.
Students will develop and present a 6 to 8 minute seminar on 1 text of their choosing related to the module and elective studied. The choice of text will be informed by wide reading and viewing.
Student should consider and comment on the social/historical context of the text and implicit values, intended audience, purpose and language, textual and stylistic features.
I was wondering if either Sherlock Homles or the film Sin City is suitable for this assessment task. Are those texts easyto analyse? Are there other texts that you would recommend?
