What are the poetic techniques/devices used in the song 'Nothing Else Matters' by Metallica. I was only gonna do these verses/stanzas:

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

If you could direct me to another poem which isn't 'cheesy' and bears some relevance to love feel free to do so..

Well to start "So close, no matter how far" is a paradox. Then you have the repetition of "and nothing else matters." Pretty much all of the lyrics are metaphorical, in particular "Never opened myself this way." And things like "All these words I don't just say" make the persona sound kind of... Helpless? Holding back from something. Just the overall tone of the poem.
Anyway thats just a few i could pick out. Just use those to argue your point. If you need additional help i find sites like songmeanings.net pretty useful.
Goodluck :)

The high modality of "never opened myself this way" emphasise the traveler's reflection upon their psychological condition. This self-reflexive dialogue collaborates with the tautology of "life is ours, we live it our way" to highlight their committed decision to self-independence. The power of the journeying experience is encapsulated by the epigrammatic structure of the title and refrain "nothing else matters" whereby the polysyllabic emphasis gives credence to the blunt yet profound impact autonomous decision making has upon the traveler.

That extempore analysis should get you started, just do the same for the 1st and 3rd paragraphs you copied and pasted.
