How complex must the poetic techniques be? So far I've only identified imagery, symbolism, simile and metaphor as the techniques which have some sort of significance in his poems.
The thing is, yeah, there's alliteration, rhythmn and all that, but what are you supposed to make out of it? I mean, so what there's rhythm? How's that meant to help. I really don't understand. And all those forms that Yeats' poems take, such as sonnet and lyrical, what about them? HOW do they convey meaning or whatever? I don't see any.
Help!
