imo, using this theory is the stupidest thing ever... But then using any of those 3 'main' theories is pretty stupid as they all limit some part of the business.... But this one bluntly limits efficiency..

- recognises that people often act out of self interest

- unfair management /control may become acceptable in the workplace
- superficial and arguably manipulative in relation to the 'power play' culture
if you want to put it into a context you're better off comparing to the other theories: ie systems/ contingency, classical-scientific and behavioural
