You need to develop a thesis which you introduce in your introduction.
You then talk about your texts and how they support or agree with your thesis (but in your intro you need to suggest which direction your argument will take and whether these texts support it, disagree or are fence-sitters)
You have your argument in relation to the question as a focus to your essay, and your techniques and quotes are examples to support your argument.
