Here is something I wrote up for all of you who may have prac tests in your subjects, usually sciences.

--

Hypothesis: An educated "guess" as to what the result of the experiment will be.

Aim: What you're trying to test. (Eg. to determine the viscosity of a liquid)

Variables: Independent (What will be changed to test your aim, eg (The liquid you're using), dependant: Depends on the independent (viscosity of the liquid), controlled (list everything, such as same person testing, same watch etc...)

Apparatus: Everything you'll be using in the experiment, even rulers, pencil, etc...

Method: Detailed steps of what will happen, in chronological order. At the end make sure you write "Repeat experiment 10 times, for reliability"

Results: What your results were

Discussion -

Accuracy: How errors were minimised, allowing more accuracy.

Improvements: How you could improve the experiment, such as better equipment.

Reliability: Is the experiment reliable?, for reliability you "Test for the repeatability of the experiment, if the experiment is repeatable, the experiment is reliable".

Validity: "The experiment was valid as its design successfully accomplished the aim." Also state, that all possible factors were controlled.

Conclusion: Answer to your hypothesis.

Discussion:

Reliability : Repetition
Validity: Proving the hypothesis, not the aim. Using secondary resource
- IV, DV, CV (variables)

Accuracy: Quantitative vs qualitative analysis?
Error: Any errors associated, such as inconsistent controlled variables
Improvement: Any?
Risk assessment: What to do to prevent any risk.
