I just wonder that where preliminary marks go? My teachers said that preliminary marks in all subjects do not count for HSC. Is it true? Do HSC mark contain only year 12 and exam marks?
preliminary is irrelavent to the HSC, although the work is assumed knowledge. so yes, the marks do not count at all. in yr12 your assessments count to 50% of your HSC with the other half being the HSC test itself
But don't take that as permission to not attempt to try your best and hardest for year 11. Remember that the preliminary course is assumed knowledge so anything taught at HSC level would be based around the prelim stuff you've already learnt. That said, do not beat yourself up over marks that you wish you'd have gotten. It's better to make your mistakes and get them over and done with in year 11 so that later, you do well
