Hello BOSers :) I need your help.

I don't understand what the question is stating so please clarify it for me:

A hand of five cards contains a ten, a jack, a queen, a king and an ace. From the hand, two cards are drawn in succession, the first card not being replaced before the second card is drawn.

Thanks.

So in the second line the question is telling you that from the hand of five cards, two cards are drawn one after the other. It is also saying that when the first card is drawn it is not put back into the hand but kept followed by the picking of the second card.

You have those five cards. You pick one out, then pick out another. You can't put the first card back in your hand before you take out the second card.

Basically just sayin the second pick is out of the 4 remaining cards.
