I had this argument with my math teacher and cant agree to an answer.

The change of getting a girl and a boy is the same. A parents has 2 kids.

What are the changes that both of them are girls.

I came up with the answer of 1/3. Reason been there are 3 possible combinations, BB GB(BG) and GG.

My teacher keeps drawing a tree diagram to proof that its 1/4 but i dont think thing question need to distinguish which kid is which.

inputs?

thanks

Doesnt having a GB the same as BG. There are no distinguish between which child came first the G or the B. Have one female and one male is the same was having 1 male and 1 female. There are only 3 combintation of sexes, BB, GG and GB(BG).

thats how i thought of it.
