- I am not sure if this question was asked before, but I without surprise am stuck at it again:

started by defining the four digit number as 1000x + 100y + 10z + u for x,y,z and u being some arbitrary integers set - but I am stuck after this (thanks for the help in advance!!!)

Edit: I remember using Aps and Gps for this - alternatively you could establish n consecutive numbers as (n-2) + (n-1) + n + (n + 2) + ( n+1)
If you sub n = 2k +1 into each of these, then you will end up with 10k + 5, which is a multiple of n - hence the statement will be true.
