when approaching q's akin to the above examples, when finding dy/dx is it standard practice to rewrite it so that y is the subject, the cambridge textbook does that, tho on the other hand many past papers dont unless they mention it.

I don't understand your question. dy/dx would equal some_mathematical_expression.

Give an example.
