Hi,

For the question:

"Effective communication with Earth is essential for a satellite to be useful. Discuss the requirements for a low-earth-oribit satellite, and a geostationary satelittle, giving consideration to the satelittes being able to maintain continuous communication with the surface"

Is it in the Space module anymore? Because I don't think Jacaranda (new version) didn't talk about it much, but Macmillan (2000 syllabus) does, so?

Thanks,

Jason

This was removed when the syllabus was changed in 2003.

Low earth orbit and geostationary orbits are still in the syllabus, but what that question is asking for is from ye-old syllabus. We had a simmilar question about the optimal wave that should be used between the earth and the satelite, it was later removed and everyone who got it right (including myself) had a mark deducted. It felt crap, although it really makes no difference.
