this might have been answered somewhere else, but i was wondering if you can write a newspaper article for the creative writing section if it just asks for a general creative work?

You can write any text type for a creative writting if it doesn't specify any other type. so the answer to your question is yes as long as a you articulate the creative writing question into your writing and the marker is able to recognise that you understand the journey.

Yea what she said :p ... but they just say leave it open for us to chose what we would like so it can show them what we are capable of... If that's what your creative work can be written into then make sure you check with your teacher that thats the best way to go...

EDIT: you can write everything BUT poetry... But i dont really think anyone would want to write that :p

they usually do specify...... but they can give a stimulus like a picture or something and say 'use this picture as a stimulus for a creative writing to show your understanding about the journey' and it doesnt specify so you can write in any form you like...... my teacher said if you dont do a basic narrative it shows individual creativity to the marker.

OK the stimulus is something that you just mention in the story.. say for e.g. its like a bike or something... You can just slip in your story somewhere about someone riding a bicycle or something!!!!

They are extremely lenient with the story because it is meant to be CREATIVE... So make sure you do pre prepare a story cause the markers can tell between a pre prepared story and one made up on the spot....

Just mention the stimulus and you'll be good!!!!!!!!!!!
