it says that concentration does not affect the value of K, the equililbria constant.

then why does it say that if the value of K is closer to one, the lower the concentration?

Exactly what is the 'it' you refer to??

The constant will always stay the same as long as the system is not interfered with from outside. The closer the number is to zero, the more it favours the reactants (i think, it may be the other way around). Thus, if it favours the reactants, i suppose that means that you get a higher concentration of reactants than prducts.

Hey, all th reactants lined up!! :)

no they didnt :p

Temperature is the only thing that affects K.

Thats the effect K has on concentration, not the other way around. What that means is that if you increase or decrease the concentration of anything within an equilibrium, the value of K will remain constant.

The value of K however can signal what kinds of concentrations you're getting according to whether the forward or reverse reaction is in favour.
