Just a quick question: in the HSC, are we tested on the content of the Prelim and HSC Mathematics course equally?

Or is the majority of the HSC basend on the yr 12 course? if so, what %?

Up to 30% of the exam can be on the prelim course (although you won't know which parts of the prelim course they will ask about).

The distinction between the prelim and hsc courses is largely artificial - mathematical knowledge always builds on top of what you know previously, so the two can't be separated that easily.

Not really. That's a supposed number, but tbh they can test any prelim stuff they want. Maths is unlike most other courses in that prelim is typically necessary knowledge to build upon.

I mean, a lot of people learn prelim stuff in the HSC and HSC stuff in prelim and such.

Ok thanks, do you know then what topics are prelim and what are hsc? I think we may have studied some hsc courses in yr 11.
