Hi, I am doing my HSC next year and just wanted to know if you think it's possiable to get above 95% in my UAI. I am an A student but not exceptional by an means. My school is in the top 20. These are my subjects

4 unit eng
3 unit history (modern history)
2 unit economics
2 unit business
2 unit biology (may drop, should 1?)

Just want to know if above 90% is acheivable for an above average student with these subjects?

Well anyone can do really brainiac subjects and do them poorly
By the same account, one of the people who got 100 for a UAI did NO extension subjects and did PE n stuff, not what most people would think 100 material

Soo.... the point I'm trying to make is that you can do BRILLIANTLY with absolutely anything so just pick what you're good at and what you'll enjoy putting lotsa work into =)

As far as 13 units, I started this year off with 13 units and now I'm down to 11. I thought it'd all work out with 4U english, 3U maths, 3U history and 3U Japanese, but for me personally it got a bit too much. You've also picked subjects that are quite content heavy. Bio, Business, Eco n Modern aren't academically rigorous, but they're just so bloody big. Plus you've picked two subjects with major works pretty much. You will need to start early, be super-focused and manage your time well. I reckon you should start off with the lot and make a considered choice after you actually get to know all your subjects warts n all =)

Shit I wrote a thesis! But I hope it helped a little...

Thanks heaps. It's good to get some direct advice cause all the teachers at school aren't too much help.
