In between the December - March break from

HSC -> Starting tertiary education?

My MOM said that i can can still claim student youth allowance during the break, and that i don't have to look for work. She was arguing with a guy at Centrelink.

I heard the GUY say that I have to apply for a change from student youth allowance, to unemployed youth allowance - and i have to be looking for some work, and when i get to uni, i can then apply again for change from unemployed youth allowance back to student youth allowance.

Who is right?

I know my mom is stubborn in character, and always asks questions and argues, if she doesn't accept something. But i don't know who to believe...

lol i am planning to get a job in that time no matter what centrelink payment i get...

i just wanna know, which payment is right for the few months break?

No i'm not American...lol? If you're basing that on the fact that i spell the short length of mother, as mom then...i'm sure that some people spell it as mom here in Australia, not just American expatriates.

meoowww.

i don't understand who exactly is entitled to centrelink?

I only work a few hours a week, about to be rid of school but live at home with both parents who both work?

I don't think I'm entitled?

How is it short length when both 'mum' & 'mom' have 3 letters in both of them?
