No, you don't have to go to one allocated to you, unless they mark the roll in it (I doubt they would). You don't have to attend the same stream all week as well, but it may disadvantage you depending on whether the other stream(s) are up to the same part of the syllabus as the others (sometimes they might fall behind or be ahead).

It's a pain in t he ass for Japanese having to sign the roll each lecture, theres always loads of people waiting to sign it when the lecture has finished.

If your subject requires you to do exams in lectures, you should go to your assigned one, as Brogan mentioned.
