Just with this - Angles opposite equal sides are equal - do you have to say the triangle is isosceles first or can you jump straight to this? Thanks!

What are you trying to say? Makes no sense. 2 equal sides of a triangle?

Yes, you have to state the triangle is isosceles as reasoning :)

Like you have 2 equal sides and you want to say that the base angles are equal. Is this allowed:

"Angles opposite equal sides are equal"

Or would you have to do this:

"Triangle ABC is isosceles (2 sides are equal)"
"Angles opposite equal sides are equal"

I'm saying can you skip to the second line or do you have to say both.

For an isosceles triangle, we usually just say: the base angles are equal. So the 2 equal angles are simply referred to as the "base angles".
