hay guys i have a locus and parobola and calculus 2 maths assessment coming up in a couple of weeks. wats the best way to study for it?

The only way to learn the calculus rules is to do many, many questions based on those rules. Do as many questions relating to locus and parabola as you can find. In short, practise, practise, practise. And if you need help, you can always ask your teacher, or post it on BOS, I'm sure someone will figure out the answer.

Know your derivative and integral rules inside out, you want to be able to see a question, identify how to go about doing it, and dive straight into the question when you do the assessment. This implies that you need practice, as SoulSearcher stated, if you are unsure of anything in the examined topics, ask your teacher.

hay guys i have a question on locus,

: Find the equation of the locus of a point that moves so that is equidistant from the point (2, -3) and the line y=7.

can someone pl help me with this question and esplain step by step

Let the locus of the point be P(x,y)

Since the two points are equidistant then using the distance formula

Let S(2,-3) and R(x,7) [ Since one of the points must lie on the line y=7 and we don't know the x value]

√(x-2)2+(y+3)2 = √(x-x)2+(y-7)2

(x-2)2+(y+3)2 = (y-7)2 [squared both sides]
x2-4x+4+y2+6y+9 = y2-14y+49 [expanded brackets]
x2-4x+20y-36=0 [simplified]

.: the locus is x2-4x+20y-36=0
