I heard that the UAI is calculated according to how well you perform compared to everyone else, and not just what you get. Is this true? If so, say I get 50% overall and everyone else gets 49% (just an example), does that me I'll get 100%?
Also, can someone please explain what "raw mark" is? I don't really understand. Finally, is 50% of the UAI is dependent on the assessment rank? Thanks.

yes, if you beat everyone in the state with your 10 units of aggregate mark.

Raw mark is the mark you get from your exam paper. This mark is meaningless and the BOS align this mark to fit into Bands (1-6). This will give you your aligned exam mark.

Yes. Your UAI (rank) comes from 10 units of HSC marks, in which the HSC mark is comprised of 50% worth of moderated assessment mark.
