Okay guys, thanks for bothering to read this post. Got my 3-unit test on wednesday, and i REALLY need help with these questions.

1. A(2,-1), B(-3,4) and C(1,-5) form the vertices of a triangle. Find the interior angle of the triangle.

2. Find the values of k if the angle between the lines 6x - 3y = 0 and kx - y +5 = 0 is 58 degrees.

3. A(0,0), B(1,2), C(5,2) and D(4,0) form the vertices of a parallelogram
(a) By finding all the interior angles, show that the opposite angles are equal
(b)Find the obtuse angle betweeen teh diagonals of the parallelogram


1. A triangle is formed with vertices A(5,6), B(0,-4) and C (-3,3). Find the point of intersection of its medians

2. Sovle by Long division (3x^5 - 2x^3 + x -1) / (x+1)

Solving the questions isn't enough, if you do decide to help out, i need an explanation of what you did, how you did, and your answer. It'll be IMMENSELY appreciated if you could help.

for question two)
tan 58=(2-k)divided by (1-2k)
Formula above comes from the formula for finding the the differences in tan compound angles and the gradients from the two lines.
(1-2k)tan58=2-k
expand from there.

Still can't solve it....

Faaack i've forgotten everything.

Can't expand (1-2k)tan58=2-k, can get k....

of course you can expand it..just don't go putting tan58 into the calculatron just yet....

tan58 -2ktan58 = 2 - k

2ktan58 - k = tan58 -2

k(2.tan58 - 1) = tan58 -2

k = (tan58 -2) / (2.tan58 - 1)

put that into calc and you gots yourself an answer

Ok draw a diagram first up (just to make things less confusing)...find the gradients of AB, AC and BC.

Now you wil need your tan(@) = | (m1-m2) / (1+ m1m2) | formula, angle between two lines, apply this three times obviously.

To find angle of C, find angle between A, B..to find A, find angle between A,C....and to find B, angle between A, C.

1. Find the gradients of AB, BC, then use the angle between two points formula
tan(@)=(m1-m2)/1+m1m2

2. Use the same formula as above, sub in the required numbers then solve for k

3. Same concept as here, find gradients of AB, BC, CD, AD then use
tan(@)=(m1-m2)/1+m1m2

To find the angles

4. The point of intersection is the point where all the lines meet. The lines come from the points of each side of the triangle then it meets halfway between the corresponding line

5. Just use long division, nothing hard about this question.

These questions you should be able to do with ease, just apply the concepts you have learnt and should be able to get through it
