okai just organising my notes and came across a few points which have raised questions, if someone could clear it up it'll be great thanks

- since hertz didn't investigate the photoelectric effect, did he recognise the UV component which caused more electrons at the time??

- also was it plank to derive the equation E=hf, just need to make sure it's not one of Einstein's contributions

He didn't shine UV light onto it, more noticied that glass reduced sparking and thin pieces of quartz had no effect.
