With internet explorer, whenever I'm typing in a url it drops down to past sites with a the same initial letters (as i'm sure you're all familiar with). Is there anyway I can turn off this?

Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> AutoComplete.

Change the settings there as you please.

If you're a fan of IE.
The Maxthon program will add a bit of functionality to IE.

And on closing, you can automatically make sure all the URL's, cookies, and other stuff gets deleted on close.
Another plus to maxthon is tabbed browsing for IE.

But this is all for if you want to use IE.
