Whenever one quotes a slab of text that contains paragraphs, it seems as though the paragraphed format is lost. Given that I have not come across this before (on this forum and in recent memory), is it just a temporary glitch, or is it something more permanent?

Edit: I'd like a technical response, not a stop-gap suggestion from someone who is also in the dark. As much as some of you may want to help, this isn't an issue that requires the attention of a benefactor.

I just tested it out, and I also experience the same problem. In fact it integrates all the paragraphs into one big slab when you quote someone starting who started their next paragraph on the next line. However, if you leave a whole line blank in between paragraphs from a quote, it works fine for me. Probably just a glitch as you said, as James has been fiddling around with bits and pieces of the forum and it's not uncommon to find strange things like these occurring.

Edit for IU's post: Also tested the preview for signature and posting, both also disregard linebreaks.

If I'm quoting an article (as I tend to do), I really don't want to waste any more time than is necessary (I already have to format the size and headings as it is). Thanks for the response, but I would prefer to hear from an admin or a senior mod given that they are likely to have some idea as to what is going on.

The same thing happens when you hit "Preview Post" - all the text loses its line breaks.

EDIT: I'm simply pointing out that it happens with Preview Post as well - more symptoms may help an admin fix the problem.

Maybe just a minor problem, just edit it back to its original. Yes it has happened to me as well

lol...so much for "no benefactors." They just can't help themselves.

Temporary glitch due to a compression algorithm we were testing.

Fixed now.
