44/84 will get you a scaled mark of 81

so a scaled mark of 70 shuld be about 30ish/84 raw.
You're kidding me right? So barely passing will get me a scaled mark of 81?? I'm still aiming for ~60. In my trials, I got 42/82, and I was scaled up to a 35/50.

yerp that is true, remember for extension 1 maths 80 percent of the candidates get 35/50 and above. copy paste this link in your browser, http://www.uac.edu.au/documents/atar/2010_HSC_Table A2.pdf that will confirm the percentage of people getting 35 + for extension 1, mad scaling.
