hey guys, i've got another question...

i've been getting a lot of 70~80% in class marks lately (assignments, hws, etc).. but i'm ranked 1st in most of my classes.

how much marks must i get in the actual hsc test to be able to get a uai of 80+..?

anyone have an estimate?

If you average 70-80 raw in assessments, you pretty much can't get lower than an 80 UAI, depending on your subjects you might even get 85!

if youre ranked first, chances are youll get a decent UAI, provided you dont screw the external exam

in that case
mid to high band 4 for english std
band 5 minimum for ipt
band 5 for b studies
band 5 for bio
ancient-high band 4 to mid band 5
maths general-mid band 5

since you have 12 units, you can afford to 'screw up one', but try SAM and JUAI with the bands i put and see whether or not you get a UAI of 80+

Do you want the raw marks or the aligned marks that you need to get in the exams? If you want aligned marks.. just plug in values into SAM and see what you get. If you want the raw marks, things get a bit more complicated.

In the Technical Arcana part of this website, theres a link that has some raw marks - aligned marks comparisons. However...

When looking at what raw marks you should aim for in the HSC, you have to be careful, because your school's marking might be full hard or easy compared to HSC marking, even within different faculties. As an example when I did my HSC, the modern history trial marks were full low (I got 72 for example) and the HSC marks were very high (I got 88) with some people going from 61,62 to around the marks that I achieved, whereas in other subjects at my school (such as Chemistry) people got results such as 89, and in their HSC only ended up with 84, even though Chemistry gets aligned significantly in the actual HSC exams.

Therefore the best bet is to get the standards packages (I dont have the link, my bad lol) to compare whether your work is as good as their work and full come up with a mark based upon that... n then plug those into SAM and see what happens :D
