CHESSN: sort of like a student number, but for HECS so you can check what you owe and stuff.

there will be more info. the ladies at the student centre don't know too much yet till next year since things are still being sorted out.

Our course had one of those lectures earlier in the semester ... only cause our course isn't going to exist next yr ... but i didn't attend.

I thought that we re - enrolled between 18 oct to 19 nov ... i could be mistaken though.

yes we are enrolling between the 25 oct -19Nov.
Re-enrolment is compulsory if you want to stay in uni.
the 25% increase will not apply to Pre-2005 uni students, that is the uni cannot charge us more than what we would have paid before these changes. [Transitional Phase]
Advice: get the forms at the student centre, fill them in and give them back to the studnet centre.
Remember to check the enrolments results on Pweb.

So far reading all the books and stuff: it just the same as normal enrolment. Few rules extra but thats it.
Instead of a HECS place and a FEE place, it has become a Commonwealth supported and non-commonwealth supported place. Commonwealth support means that the Gov. contributes to your contribution (HECS) fees.
All students entitled to SLE equal to 7 years. [Student learning entitlement] that is if you want to be commonwealth supported, you can be one for 7 years, then if you want to study further, you are only able to take a non-commonwealth supported place. The thing is if you consume/use up all you SLE, you can build up on lifelong SLE so that you can become a commonwealth supported again.
New fee structure, payment threshhold etc, you guys know that.
To defer HECS payment, you have to apply for HECS-HELP assistance. however, this is in the DOMESTIC package already, on the Request for Commonwealth Support and HECS-HELP form already. Basically the same as before, you incur a debt and it is recognised after you finish your semester etc.

You will get a CHESSN when you give in your forms. Remeber this number as it allows you to check stuff about your enrolments, SLE left and stuff.

hope this helps, good luck!
PS: last day to hand in forms is 19 Nov, but the earlier the better!

Disclaimer: this is only for Pre-2005 students at UWS. International and new students should refer to http://www.uws.edu.au/students/stuadmin/enrolments/ and http://www.hecs.gov.au/information.htm
