Outline how redox reactions can occur in electrolytes?

According to dot point, electrons can be transferred in electrolytes, hence redox reactions can occur... but i thought that only ions could move through an electrolyte, or am i wrong?

could someone please clarify this? thanks

IIRC, ions (in particular cations) are electron carriers. So ions could move through an electrolyte, which could carry electrons around.
