Who are two people I can put as referees on a job application if I have never been employed before?

Teachers
a friend who owns a shops
a family friend

I was gonna use a teacher, but I thought I remember hearing somewhere that they are not allowed to be put as referees.

nah u can put teachers as referees, a friend of mine went and ask the deputy principal to be a referee person and they got the job i htink coz it looked impressive

* yeah and just family friends n stuff or whatever
* sports coaches

You could also use teachers from outside of school eg drama/dance/music teachers as well as sports coaches. Or if you have done any volunteering for any groups I'm sure they would go as a referee.

and you can definitely use teachers, i think they prefer them to family friends

are written references good enough?
I have 3 written references 2 from teachers from my the highschool i went to from 7-10 and 1 year 12 reference from my school that i went to from 11-12.
do you think employees would be okay with these?

Principals cant but teachers can.

i think they want someone they can talk to as well, put other people just in case.

Well, most of them don't ring them. I think it's enough just to have them on your resume. They are more interested in actual skills and whether you are a person who will follow instructions and get along with the rest of the staff.

Depends wat kind of job it is. If its just a job at ur local supermarket, they aren't going to call your referees, but if its a serious job with a few competitive applicants, they might want to have a chat

my freind used the deputy principal which is basiclly da same as principal so yeah you can

its ok but it doesn't look that good, its better to have a variety of people.

Oh and BTW, teachers actually aren't allowed to give personal refs whilst ur still one of their students (i mean im sure plenty do, but thats the rule). When you've left thats fine cos you're just aquaintances.

i actually have to thank principal of my school, thats how i got a job in a company. the recomendation letter from school is useful too.
at my work when they hire some one they even call overseas for refference eg china, france

have u done work experience anywhere? maybe the person who was in charge of u for that could be one?
remember to ask these people before putting them in.. just in case they do get called.. lol
