Hey,

I was just wondering with exams and special consideration, does anyone know how the special consideration works? ie not the application, but the actual special consideration? Also doesn anyone know if there are any repercussions to applying for special consideration?

Thanks in advance to anyone who knows anything.

lol yeah my bba103 lecturer said that the supplementary exams are HARDDDDDDDDER! and the majority of students that do them fail them (for that subject)

My friend did some language before and she mentioned that her lecturer said the supp is HARDER and they mark harder too :p

It is made harder because you have an extra 2-3 weeks to study for it, compared to everyone else. Seems fair.

Repercussions? I'd say it would be that even if you get a better mark with your regular exam, your supplementary mark counts.

Or did you mean, as in being "black listed" for getting special consideration? If you are legit in these things, you'll have nothing to worry about, in my opinion.

I find it strange that they do that. I guess that is true for people who might fake that they need the supplementary exams, but for the majority of cases, wouldn't they not have extra time to study? Say for example, if a grandparent dies, they would hardly have time to or want to study, so they're not really getting an extra 3 weeks to study and they're not in the same mindframe as those who did the main exam.

I think the supplementary exams serve the purpose of only relieving people from exams during that week(s), giving them time to recover from sickness, grievences(sp?), etc. and prepare for a final exam at a later date.
