are any of you living on ur own and are getting rent assistance from the gov?
if so, how much are u getting? and how much does ur place cost per week?

I have been looing into this, and so far I have found:

Its all mumbo jumbo. Centerlink changes their schemes ever year or so, and the website they have is a peice of shit.

The only way you will ever learn how it will effect you/what you will be able to get is go into centerlink. Its free and dusnt take long if your just asking questions.

But, a few figures. If your a full tiem studnet, and are deemed inderpendant you get about $380 a fourghtnight.

Non independant get about half that i think.

Do you think there is any way that i can get rent assist or some sort of assistance if i enroll in uni, get the RA, then defer and go overseas. Does anyone here know anything about this scheme and is it possible to scam the system in this way. I have little money to go overseas with. Is this fruad. hehe
