if you dont mind sharing with a few other ppl, thats probably the cheapest option.

i lived in surry hills for a while, just off chalmers so v. close to central, was paying 79 a wk which is jack shit in the city. thats about as cheap as you can get.

my strong suggestion is to do the shared household thing, but get a 2 or 3 br place and find a couple of other ppl to move in with you... if you get a room at a place where other ppl are controlling the lease, the ppl yr sharing with will jack up yr rent and you'll end up paying double what theyre all paying.

I think you would get more tired from cooking, cleaning, washing + working than from early morning commutes.... they take up a surprising amount of time.....

um waking up ONCE a week at 5:40am is crap but not impossible. My friend (albeit at uni) gets up 5-ish for uni 4 days a week...

I agree Sarah168. EG: three days a week I have to get up at 5:30am just to make a 9am lecture. And spend anywhere up to three hours on a train. Its hard, but its possible.

I think you would be making a stupid decision to move out during your HSC year. You need to stability of home when you are under so much pressure. It's not worth the financial costs just so you can sleep in one more morning of the week.
