out of the residential colleges for females and males, which has what kinda reputation?
and what are the initiation processes like in the colleges?
i've heard some stuff for colleges at other unis and it doesn't sound good if you're a first year student

Last year when looking at UNSW I decided that I would apply only to Shalom. It's a small college, set back a bit from the rest of the uni, close to gym and the Anzac walk (or whatever it's called). Most importantly, the people are not your "party all night in the college dorms" type, and that appealed to me because I didn't want to screw around at uni. I have enough distractions in lectures, let alone at "home"...and you need SOMEWHERE to get work done!

Apparently the food is pretty good too.
