hello dears, it seems that a lot of you have issues with your major works or need help so here it is! first of all here are some tips as to how to go about actually WRITING the major work:

1. read...LOTS.
2. read some more
3. and then some
4. find out what inspires you... late nites? coffee? the beach? UTILISE THIS
5. dont be afraid to put pen to paper, you can always delete/erase it later
6. dont delete/erase it, keep it for later, it might come in handy
7. utilise ALL of your senses for a more evocative piece
8. planning will help you organise the structure of your work
9. have a notepad+pen handy for those brainwaves especially upon waking
10. don't get discouraged!

and for the PROCESS LOG:

1. log EVERYTHING.
2. date it, name the author/source, write your impressions of it (even 4 lines)
3. if desperate, look up some stuff for the express purpose of putting it in the log
4. don't include any personal details in the log
5. if all else fails, make it up and don't get caught

ok lastly, if anyone needs reviewing feel free to email me (one chapter at a time and i'll review grammatical errors) also if you need help with story lines etc/ideas/theses, just email me a basic outline and i'll try to help you ok?

Superb list. I'd also recommend just chatting with your ExII teacher when you do need some advice. They've probably been under the same pressure before, and in such cases, experience and shoulders to lean on are choice.

Just don't go nuts about planning if it isn't your thang. Formulaic, overplanned, contrived writing = crap. Ie, unless you're writing a fantasy text or a historically-based piece, steer clear.
