I was thinking that if I had time I could watch a couple of revues. Any ones you'd like to recommend?

Ha, I managed to catch up with a friend doing Engineering/Commerce and she has kindly agreed to reserve a ticket for me for Engo Revue. It's on next Sunday, at Manning at 5-ish. $15, she said.

Well, went to it and just came back. Some of the jokes I didn't get, especially the Engo-Super Man dude, probably since I don't do engineering, but I liked the 'if you do x, you'll put y engineers out of business' Shows how relevant engineering is to society. The guy with a beard, a plait, and a massive amount of body hair was just gross, though I must say he was rather brave coming up so many times, and being a cross-dresser  so many times! I think his appearance may be why they put him on so many times. Some of the jokes were rather crude and sexual, but hey, MedRevue was equally as loaded, so meh. And that skit where all the men were naked but conveniently hid their phalluses with various objects was quite amusing, and quite skillful too. Also very brave of them!

Overall, I'd give it a C for humour, cos I did laugh, but could've been better

D- for humour. The best joke on friday was from a heckler.
It was a good prediction.

When are the other Revues? I know:

Science - Week 5
Law - Week 7

When's the med one? Has it been advertised? Has it been cast? Are they still desperate midwives?

Just did some checking:

Week 5 - Science [Thurs - Sat] - Quantum Tunneling for Dummies
Week 6 - Medicine [Wed - Sat] - Memoirs of Amnesia
Week 7 - Law [Wed - Sat] - High Rates of the Career Driven
Week 8 - Arts [Wed - Sat]
Week 9 - Architecture [tbc] - Architorture

I rate the Science Revue!!

It was quite funny in the main, some of the diction (clarity in singing/speech) was really bad, but the program helped with that. I cringed at large chunks of the "jokes" particularly the SUSS BANNED COMP and the thing about little Jessica.

But I loved the Feng Shui skit and my favourite had to be the Staple Gun Wars.

Definite A for effort
Maybe a C for humour?
The BAND!! They deserved an A for sure
Price was reasonable and proceeds go to cystic fibrosis research.

I'm going to see the Med, Law and Arts Revues too. I reckon I'll skip Architecture.

Hung around after Open Day to watch Science Revue. A for the band, most definitely, and a good B for effort (being first timers, certainly quite commendable but I just don't reckon it's good enough for an A), but the jokes were really lame I found. D- for humour.

And as it so happened - they did it again. How ghey. Stupid CSE.

FOCUS: The med revue was fantastic. A good show, lots of stage prescence. The only downfall was their complete and utter lack of speaking to the audience. In spite of this the projection was really quite good.

The musical ripoff - Perfect. When you're a Med you're a Med all the way ...

Vet revue is the 7th Oct, at Camden campus (its not that far... there's the new M7!) Come to BBGrog, party all day, and the revue will seem awesome whether its funny or not! (but it totally will be funny). Bring your swag and stay the night in a paddock, they do breakfast too.
make sure you dont miss it!

Week 10 - Vet Science [Sat] - "Lube" (At Camden).

Not to mention Iron stomach, the log in the Dam, jelly wrestling, much Mud, Sun, Fun, Drink, and Paddocks (Run free in the country!!!!) and all the wonderment that makes up BBGrog. Remember your last day of year 12? well this is better, and alcohol is allowed (encouraged even!)

Hey, if it's not here:
http://www.usydunion.com/cms/?pageID=247&showDate=False
Then I could care less about it.

Law was alright, not nearly as good as last year. I'd say Med was better than it, but I knew a few people in the med revue. Honestly, I was quite dissapointed in the musical numbers to end before intermission, and to end the revue.

Oh, and number 1 problem with the revue:
2 wangs, 1 breast.
If you're going to do a nude skit with the intention of NOT revealling anything, DON'T REVEAL ANYTHING.

And best line of the night:

"... Sting and Ray Charles singing achy breaky heart."

Hey Tom, which night did you go? Cos I went Friday and that line was "Steve Irwin and Ray Charles will do a collaboration of 'Heartbreaker'" (which was met by strong boos from the crowd)

And they made a Peter Brock dig as well which was REALLY booed all over. Theres tasteless then theres disrespect for the dead.... :(
