that waS an option in my trial
and i had no #$%^^!! idea..
how do u answer a role of the senate question???

I'm doing the Julio-Claudians and as everyone who's does it knows, the role was significantly reduced although Augustus tried to retain the prestiege of the Senate. Still had the right to mint coins and retained most effective officies, but most were primarily in the hands of the princeps. So the role is still representing the people but controlling the state under the princeps authority and were directly answerable to him.

That's for anyone doing the empire.

If you're doing the Imperial period, you just need to be able to comment on the decline in the role of the senate under the emperors...

And with that, I'm off...

For a political revolution question on the role of the senate, I think they'd want you to focus on the changing role, and the way that the Gracchi, Marius, Sulla and other revolutionaries undermined the senate's autority/power.

Maybe I'm wrong...
