Probably a really simple question but:
When doing exponential growth and decay questions, do i round up or down? Like, say the question was asking "How many days will it take for XXX to increase to XXXX" and my answer is 14.34. Would that mean 14 days or 15? Or is my answer just wrong?

Same goes for say, people for example. If it was one of those population questions, and they asked what the population would be in XX years time, and my answer was something like 12665.37, would i say that's 12665 or 12666?

Thanks in advance.

How many days will it take: Generally it will tell you, but write down about 4dp then round to 1dp.

Population I always round down. Since it can only increase in whole increments and I see .9 or something as another person will nearly be there, or it will be a while till the next one dies. But again write it to a few dp so the marker can see that you know you have to round (if the answer rounded the other way)

and you should always write out the calculator display before rounding off, so if you stuff up, you'll get one mark... :)
