Hellos ppls! I need help desperately.

I have a d-link wireless router. I plug my braodband (optusnet) into the router WAN port and then i use and ethernet cable to connect thwo computers to the router (from the LAN ports) and all the lights are on and working fine. I also remove the usb cable from my broadband modem to my computer. See my first pcuture to see my gateway working fine and my network card.

The problem is: I HAVE NO INTERNET!?!?!?!

I suspect the problem has to do with my WAN settings because if you look at the WAN settings image below it seems to be a bit blank and on those little tv screen on the taskbar the gateway is not sending out any information. The last picture WAN shows a lack of numbers.

I have run the network wizard, the wireless network wizard, and the d-link network wizard a zillion times each and nothing is happening ...

I am assuming I have to get some numbers in the WAN? but I dont know what numbers or how to do it... help pleaseeeeeee

Do you have Windows Internet Connection Sharing enabled? If you do, turn it off. Its now the job of the router.

In the router WAN page, try click "DHCP Renew" to get a new IP address from your ISP.

The renew thing 'says' it works, but all the numbers stay the same and no internet.

I did have ICS enabled... I think indeed this may be the problem! For example:

When i put all the wires as mentioned above, it wouldnt work.
When I put all the wires back (like it is now and was before I got the router); it DOES work.
When i turn ICS off, it doesnt work on both of the setups!?

How is this possible. And also, when I move the cables around the ICS option is unavailable because the broadband lan option dissapears.

How can I be sure that ICS is off and not stuffinf stuff up?

Sharing the Internet connection is the job of the router now, there is no need for ICS - it'll just stuff things up. Use the Network Setup Wizard to turn off ICS again.

How exactly do I do that ... every option seems to be enabling ICS??

Lets make it simple - delete all network connections and network cards in Windows, and let Windows reinstall them to their defaults when you reboot. Then work from there to get it to work with the router.

ignore what windows says, your problem is between the router and your ISP

this picture show sthat you dont have a "WAN" adress

this means you dont have an internet adress such as, 203.165.343
this means that the router isnt talking to your ISP

either manually put in the ip adress you get when you plug the modem straight into your computer (use windows networking to tell you this, or www.whatismyip.com)

then insert it after clicking, manual ip adress, "dynamic ip" wont work cos its npot receiving an ip now isit?

otherwise your ISP may have "PPPoe" this means you have to put in usernames and passwords so your router can connect itself
