im doing four unit maths
and it says to type in our marks out of 50
lets say i type in 45, how come it reads it out of 100 rather than out of 50
its, errr, very confusing

If you do 4 units of maths, both ext 1 and ext 2 are counted as 2 units and hence will give a results out of 100

Just change your mark to out of 100. eg. instead of 45/50, change it to 90/100.

Yeah...you don't put 90/100 in there, just 90. I'm just clarifying things.
