According to Lazarus' article on moderated marks...I am so confused.
From what I understand, if you get 90% for assessment but you get 50% for HSC, your assess marks gets scaled down to 50%? Then does UAC scale the 50%/

Anyways, these are my marks and estimates for RAW HSc marks

assess / HSC
Maths 3u - 94% assess, 80% HSC
Maths 4u - 74% assess, 57% HSC
Eng Adv - 74% assess, 70% HSC
Physics - 82% assess, 70% HSC
Software - 81% assess, 70% HSC

German - 88% scaled

your assessment mark is not used only your rank then its based on HSC marks for your school, thus rank and relative difference is needed to help. but i would say low 80's

The HSC exam is the only exam that is common throughout the state. It would be unfair to use marks given by the school's as it can lead to bias to due varying difficulty in exams from schools.

Hence, using the HSC exam marks to be distributed to students as their moderated assessment mark taking account of rank and relative differences is quite fair.
