Just wondering: just say you get an lower mark of say 60 in your school assesment mark but you end up getting perhaps 85 in your actual HSC, what happens, do you get scaled up or down?

what you mean in terms of school assessment mark? is that your raw mark from all the assessments you completed for that subject, or you talking about moderated assessment mark?
say you get 60 as your assessment mark and 85 in your exam, then your final hsc mark would be 60+85/2= 72.5 = 73
