self defence classes in the illawarra (1 Viewer)

Hey.

Im just wondering if anyone knows a place in the illawarra NSW way where i could take a self defence class.

One that isn't like martial arts but a realistic combat class so i could defend myself in real life situations.

You're looking for brazilian jiu jitsu* then. Is this close to where you are:

Or one of these:

*brazilian jiu jitsu is not capoeira.

I should add that if you can find a decent boxing or kickboxing gym near your place, they're good too.

And finally, even though you might think judo is like the other 'traditional' martial arts, you will learn a lot of practical realistic self-defence in judo.

No problems, hope that helps you decide. If you were to ask me, I'd recommend judo first, brazilian jiu jitsu second, then boxing/kickboxing third.
