The impacts of self determination mainly was freedom. Self determination meant that the Indigenous people were free to live the way they choose, have their own beliefs, language etc (one could argue the extent to which they were really 'free').

self determination as an act of freedom is very debatable as they are still under the authority of government agencies etc ie they are not determining their future (though they do have a greater say than in their history.
Actually superceded by self management
ie
E=extermination
S=segregation
P=protectionism
A=assimilation
I=Integration
S=self determination/self management
